As associate vice president of public affairs and information at Cuyahoga Community College, a three campus, 25,000 student institution, Sandy provided strategic planning and leadership in all areas of public relations and marketing.
Created and chaired a collegewide marketing team;
Developed a collegewide marketing plan;
Provided leadership for the creation of a new advertising/public relations campaign, requiring determination of promotion mix, analysis and prioritization of target markets and evaluation procedures to track and measure promotional effectiveness;
Provided strategic leadership and planning to the public relations/marketing unit, determining unit goals, objectives, staffing, budget.
These efforts turned a six-year enrollment decline into a five-year growth cycle of 17 percent collegewide and 40 percent on the downtown Cleveland campus;
These college programs were also recognized nationally with more than l00 professional awards.
Direct experience in forming and leading new marketing task forces from diverse college personnel and creating a team and plan that receive wide ongoing support from college leadership and grassroots personnel and resulted in concrete enrollment increase and achievement of marketing objectives.
She formed and led the marketing team at Cuyahoga Community College and has developed similar teams at dozens of colleges through her marketing consulting and seminar presentations
Served as president of the National Council of Marketing and Public Relations, an affiliate of AACC, and was named its Communicator of the Year
Served as international board member of Council for Advancement and Support of Education and chaired its first Communications Commission
